Hey folks, it’s your friendly neighborhood mechanic, Matt, and I’m here to tell you all about replacing a water pump on a 2016 Ford Explorer.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Matt, why would I want to read about that?” Well, let me tell you a little story about the time I had to replace the water pump on my cousin’s Ford Explorer, and it was a wild ride!.

So, I had just finished up a long day of working on cars and I get a call from my cousin saying that his Ford Explorer was making a strange noise and the temperature gauge was skyrocketing.

Of course, I said I’d come take a look.

I arrive and pop the hood, and the first thing I notice is that the serpentine belt is loose and flopping around like a fish out of water.

I thought to myself, “Oh boy, this is going to be a doozy.”.

After a little investigating, I found out that the water pump was shot and needed to be replaced ASAP.

Now, I’ve replaced a few water pumps in my day, but this was my first time on a Ford Explorer, so I was a little nervous.

But, being the pro that I am, I sucked it up and got to work.

And let me tell you, it was a wild ride!.
